Only a week after my parents were here, I had more family
visiting! My aunt and uncle were visiting friends in Wisconsin and realized it
wouldn’t be that much further to come see me up at Pictured Rocks. We had
dinner together last night, and today we did a driving tour of the park. First
we walked over to the beach near my house, then we walked the marsh boardwalk
loop. It looked about he same as when I was there with Mom and Dad, but some of
the flowers were a little further along, the cattails a little taller…
Our next stop was Munising Falls, of course.
There are buttercups blooming everywhere. The petals are so shiny! |
Then we drove
out to Miner’s Castle and walked out to both overlooks. We stopped in at the
visitor center and said hi to Marc, then drove down to Miner’s Beach so we
could get out by the water! It was gorgeous, sunny weather, although still a
little cool.
We drove east through the park, stopping at a lakeside
overlook near Hurricane River, and then at the Log Slide overlook, where I
scared up a very cute little toad…
The view was great, but I found myself not taking very many pictures because I had just been there the week before. Still, it was fun showing my aunt and uncle around! We went back to Munising from there. They eave tomorrow; I'm a little sad it was such a short visit, but at the same time I was glad to have another day to get stuff done before I had to go back to work!
